Deaf Awareness Week (May 2-8)

Share something valuable on accessibility e.g. your favourite apps for adding captions to videos or celebrate a business/person doing great work in this area. Or ask your community for ideas on accessibility for your business. If you have my Courageous Content Planner the former is an example of a news/trends post. It could also work as an educate style post. News/trends posts need to be timely/relevant – which is why it makes sense to publish this post during Deaf Awareness Week. But there’s no reason why you can’t republish a post like this as an educate style post on another date. It’s World Accessibility Awareness Day on 19 May – so you could consider creating a two parter on this topic (it’s always good to be able to refer followers back to other relevant content.

Eat What You Want Day (May 11)

If you have a health related business you can share ‘no dieting weight loss tips and/or recipes. Or share a relevant personal story/experience. Don’t have a health-related business? People love talking about food – particularly the foods they love/hate – so just start asking questions. If you have my Courageous Content Planner the former would work as a news/trends or educate style post. Sharing a personal story/experience is typically ‘inspire’ content. Asking questions about food is community style content – which is often particularly effective in Facebook groups,on and in Instagram Stories. This kind of content can also work well on LinkedIn on Twitter – but does work as well on your Instagram Grid.

Freelance Heroes Day (May 16)

Celebrate freelancers by recommending contractors who support you in your business. Or sharing tips on getting hired for freelance work and/or hiring freelancers. Or tips on what to pay freelancers or how to get paid on time if you are one. If you have my Courageous Content Planner this could work as a news/trends post or as an ‘educate’ post. News/trends posts need to be timely/relevant – which is why it makes sense to publish this post on Freelance Heroes Day. But there’s no reason why you can’t republish a post like this as an educate style post at another time. on another date.

National Sorry Day (May 26)

Create a ‘X things you don’t need to apologise for post’. Or share tips on how to give/receive apologies. Or start a conversation about apologies – like this post from professional mediator Sam Langran.
