Event Refund Policy

As a small business owner yourself, I am sure you will be aware that there are significant upfront costs involved with running any event – and in particular an in-person event.

So please be fair minded i.e. read the refund policy carefully BEFORE you purchase, raise anything you are unsure about and don’t try and wangle a refund you know you’re not entitled to at a later date!

In other words, treat my small business in the way you would like yours to be treated.

Apologies if this sounds super strict, but experience has taught us that even the nicest people can turn into meanies where money is involved. Which is why I like to make sure you are super clear about where you stand from the off.

This policy relates specifically to Courageous Content Live which is due to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead on 1 and 2 November 2022. And any other live events I run – unless we publish advice to the contrary.

Refunds/exchanges

Ticket refunds/exchanges: We don’t give refunds on event tickets but we do offer transfers. So if you find you are no longer able to attend Courageous Content Live, you may transfer your ticket to a colleague – providing you give us the name, email address and any dietary requirements of the person you are transferring your ticket to – at least 48 hours prior to the event. Please also be aware that it’s your responsibility to find someone to give/sell your ticket to – not ours.

1.We don’t ‘barter’. If you find you can’t attend the live event, you cannot exchange your ticket for another Courageous Content product – or use it as part payment.

2.Ticket upgrades/downgrades: You may upgrade your ticket – for example to add on the recordings of the event to your purchase or any VIP options that may become available. But you cannot ‘downgrade’ your ticket. For example, if you purchase a live ticket and find you can no longer attend the event live, we are happy to transfer your live ticket to a  virtual ticket so you can take part in the event remotely.  But you will not receive a partial refund of the difference between your digital ticket and your live ticket. Nor will you be able to sell the ‘live’ part of your ticket to someone else.

Cancellations

1.If we are unable to host the event live. In the unlikely event that we are not able to host the Courageous Content Live event in person, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will move the event online. We will also give you FREE access to all of the recordings from the online event (which would normally incur an additional cost). In this scenario, we would still be able to deliver a high quality virtual learning experience via livestream (as we have done successfully in the past) – which is why we would not issue a refund in these circumstances. So if you know that if the event had to move online this would not suit your needs  – please DO NOT buy a ticket for Courageous Content Live!  Because you will not get a full refund if it has to move online.

2. If we have to cancel. In the unlikely event we have to cancel the event completely (on and offline) for reasons that are within our control – you will receive a full refund.

Financial losses

In the event that the event is cancelled and/or has to be moved online, to a different venue or to another date (for any reason) we are not liable for any losses you may incur that relate to travel/ accommodation. Or any other loss of income you may incur as a result.

So please be sensible. Don’t book hotels you can’t cancel (unless you’re happy to take the risk of losing what you’ve paid), put insurance in place to cover cancellation of trains, planes and any other forms of transport you might use to get to the event. And if you’re arranging any business opportunities while you’re in Newcastle e.g. meetings or meet ups…make sure you have a Plan B – because we cannot be held liable for any financial losses you might incur as a result of not attending.

Instalment Payments

Please be advised that if you buy a ‘Pay in 3’ ticket – or any other kind of instalment plan we reserve the right to cancel your ticket (without refund) if you default on any payments. If you have not completed all the payments, you will not be admitted to the event.
