Do you feel like you feel like you’re leaving money on the table because you don’t have time to promote your business?
It’s hard to find the time for PR when you’re single-handedly running a business.
- You focus on one social media platform for a while, begin to make progress...then the others start to slide
- You start reaching out to journalists on magazines you’d love to be featured in...then find you don’t have time to follow up with them
- You get that email newsletter or blog up and running - then find yourself struggling to stick to a regular publishing schedule
You feel like you’re running to catch up all the time.
Work with me in 2017 and I’ll help you create a PR system for your business that will ensure you have a constant stream of new leads and clients - one you can stick on autopilot, leaving you time to get on with doing the things you do best in your business.
You'll need to commit a few hours a week to getting your website, social media and online marketing in order and you'll need to be prepared to take daily actions to work towards your goals. But I’ll be there to guide you, holding your hand as little or as much as you need me to.
You’ll also get the support of a group of creative women who are committed to doing work they love.
No more scouring the web for that Mailchimp video, leadpages tutorial or wondering about the best opt-in boxes. There’ll be cheat sheets, checklists, video tutorials and bite-sized chunks of learning to help you navigate your way through the online noise.
When the studio opens, you’ll be invited to take a quiz. This will help you decide which area you need to focus on first: press, social media marketing, sales and content creation.
You’ll then be guided through the studio library (which includes video tutorials, worksheets, audio and live classes) at a pace that makes sense for your business and feels comfortable for you. We’ll also help you find an accountability partner you can work with to achieve your goals.
Here's an example of some of the topics we'll cover:
Press: getting regular/mentions in the newspapers/magazines (including how to pitch ideas to journalists), how to get journalists to come to you for comment (rather than pitching them all the time) and how to do radio/TV interviews (if you want to)
Social: deciding which platforms to focus on, what kind of content to create (including video), social media scheduling and automation, how to find and create stylish images
Content marketing: Starting a regular blog, vlog, podcast or newsletter for your business, coming up with content ideas, getting people to share your content, how to turn your free content into sales
Sales: setting your prices, email list building strategies, building sales funnels, turning website visitors into customers, Facebook advertising
You'll need to be prepared to get messy. To try things out (and maybe even make mistakes) - safe in the knowledge that you will find the right solutions for your business. Just think what that will do for your confidence.

The Soulful PR Studio is for you if:
You have a product or service-based business and are in your first few years of business
You have a product or service-based business and have been been in business for more than two years but feel you could be making more money
Would like to create a PR/marketing system for your business that will generate a steady stream of leads you can convert into customers
You’d like to stop having to ‘Google’ for information on PR/marketing e.g. email marketing, email list-building, sales funnels, pitching to journalists and so on...
You like systems, checklists and tutorials to follow
You’d like accountability and regular reminders to help you keep moving forward
The Soulful PR Studio is not for you:
If you want a ‘cookie cutter’ approach to PR. All the resources will be there for you, but you’ll need to create a system that works for your business
You believe there is a magic solution to your PR/marketing challenges. There isn’t. The cheat sheets, tutorials, worksheets, live masterclasses, interviews with journalists (and all the other fab resources) will save you ton of time. But YOU need do the work to actually make things happen.
You expect to see instant results. It took me 90 days to take my Instagram following from 700 - 1700 and 6 months (and investment in Facebook advertising) to take my Facebook group from 500 - 5000 - and that’s with an established online presence and email list! I believe it takes a least a year of consistent, daily action to really get traction with your marketing and PR.
You think PR success is about the amount of time your spend online. When you’re really focused you can make progress in just 15 minutes a day. The key is to do it every day.
You’re not ready to be the face of your brand. People want to get to know the person behind the business - that’s how you build relationships, trust and ultimately makes sales. If you’re not ready to come out from behind your product/service, you’re not ready for the Soulful PR studio.
You’re not willing to take imperfect action. Commit to the Soulful PR studio and you will most almost certainly make mistakes and get things wrong. That’s where your richest learning will be.
You don’t enjoy being part of a community and prefer working alone
I was always the one in the corner at parties, too shy to say anything to anyone. But over the past year, I’ve been featured in the Guardian, Forbes and appeared live on Sky News - all opportunities that have taken me way out of my comfort zone. This has given me the confidence to pitch or put myself forward for anything, including for a prestigious business accelerator programme. I'm no longer scared to set a goal, a deadline, put it out there and make it happen. I'll get up and pitch wherever the opportunity arises, with a big smile on my face. There's a lot to learn, not only from Janet's material but also from Janet herself who has certainly been an inspiration this past year.
There's so much noise online, so when you're looking for answers on how to promote your business it’s easy to get distracted. Business owners are being actively targeted with courses on how to make mega bucks but Janet’s group gives us real support and access to real live experts on useful topics like Facebook advertising, email marketing and promoting your business on social media sites like like Instagram. Getting access to Janet during weekly office hours are invaluable when you've been working alone at home. Becoming part of Janet’s members’ community is definitely one of the best investments I made for me and my business this year.
How long do I have access to the course materials?
As long as you’re a paid-up member of the community.
What format is the course content delivered in?
The course materials are shared as video content, worksheets, cheat sheets and checklists. You’ll get your own login and password for our members’ area so you can access the course materials at any time. We do ask that your login is not shared, as membership is per individual rather than per company.
What else will happen?
If you join the studio today, we’ll send you a link to book your 1-2-1 session with me to set your PR priorities for the coming year. You’ll also get instant access to the recording of my Soulful PR Session with Andrea Thompson at Marie Claire magazine so you can find out what kind of stories they’re looking for in 2017 and get access to the private Slack group.
We’ll also email you with exclusive access to Soulful Stories - my new digital course on how to craft your unique business story and use it promote your business on social media and in the press.
How much does it cost?
£294 for the sign up year, followed by £378 per annum, or £42 per month.
How much time do I need to invest?
You’ll get out what you put in. If you invest a couple of hours a week, you should start to make progress quickly. If you only dip in to the materials and community now and again your progress will be slower.
What if I am unhappy with the studio?
We would never want you to be unhappy. If you sign up as a monthly member, you can stop your membership at any time. If you opt for the annual fee, if you contact us within 30 days, you can have a full refund - providing you have completed all the coursework provided. If you choose to stop your membership, however, you will no longer have access to any of the studio resources.
What if I cancel my annual membership within 30 days and I have had my free consultation?
If you have paid the annual fee and you decide to cancel within 30 days (which we very much hope you won't!) and you have taken up the offer of the half hour consultation, then you will be refunded the fee you paid less £150 for the half hour consultation.
What if I stop my monthly membership payments and I have had my free consultation?
If you are taking up the monthly membership payment offer then we would ask that you commit to a minimum of 8 months membership if you are going to take up the offer of a half hour consultation. Should you decide to discontinue your membership within the first eight months, then you will be invoiced £150 for the consultation.
I'm concerned about being charged for the consultation, what should I do?
You will only be charged for the consultation in the event of cancellation as detailed above. We hope that everyone joining knows that they are making a great decision for their business and will continue to be a member for a long time ahead. However, if you are unsure of your level of commitment, or are just trying the Studio out for a few months, then it may be better for you not to take up the offer of a half hour consultation or, to book it further down the line (you have an eight week window from joining) when you are more certain of your commitment level.
